London Community Sports Network (LCSN) is a second tier organisation providing support to frontline community and voluntary groups to capacity build and lobby government.
Our primary function is to help organisations within London's voluntary and community sports sector to develop and grow, so they can attract more resources and deliver better sporting and personal development opportunities to their members and communities. The project is developing a sound reputation across London’s third sector for specialist knowledge and growing track record of community development.
LCSN is hosted and run by Leyton Orient Community Sports Programme (LOCSP), an organisation with more than 15 years experience of delivering sports development, education and training to young people across north east London.

London Community Sports Network is pioneering and successful community development project hosted and managed by Leyton Orient Community Sports Programme.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, committed and experienced person who can effectively work with voluntary and community groups to improve their quality, through training, development and support. You will need to be dynamic and enthusiastic with at least 3 years community development and capacity building experience. You will also need to have an excellent understanding of voluntary sector issues and a knowledge of sports based social interventions.

Athletics Development Officer
£25,440 - £27,009 per annum Fixed term until March 2011
The London Borough of Newham and England Athletics are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic, innovative individual to develop and deliver a strategically focused athletics development programme. The post will ensure the production and effective implantation of an Athletics Development Plan, consisting of increased participation and performance, developing and supporting the club structure also improving coaching and attracting more volunteers. Sound project management, communication, organisational, financial and interpersonal skills are essential. An understanding of athletics, coaching and continuous professional development, volunteering, sporting structures and funding streams is required. An interest in, and commitment to, developing athletics across Newham is extremely important.

Brick Lane Youth Development Association
Temporary Cooking Programme Tutor (Part Time) 3 Hours per week Salary: £12-£17 per hour 2 months contract with the possibility of extension 16th June 2008 – 17th August 2008
The Brick Lane Youth Development Association (BLYDA) is a voluntary youth organisation and a registered charity based in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. Established in 1989 its aims are: (a) To establish and advance the social, Physical, political and spiritual education of young people, particularly those residing in disadvantaged urban communities. (b) Provide facilities for their recreation and other leisure time occupations to motivate, strengthen and broaden their horizons and provide structured programmes with the objective of improving quality of life. Amaal Girls Group is one of four projects of BLYDA delivers female youth provision with a culturally sensitive approach. Amaal uses a range of extra-curricular and recreational activities to empower young women and to inspire them to realise their aspirations. We are currently seeking to recruit a temporary female Cooking Programme Tutor to run our pilot ‘Learn to cook’ Programme for a family of four.
The ideal candidate would be a good teacher; self motivated and have a passion for working with and improving the welfare of young people and the local community.
Successful applicants will be requested to engage in training sessions and courses run by the London Borough of Tower Hamlets in order to acquire necessary youth work skills that will enhance delivery in the youth club.
